Kankakee Sunday

Post by Ken G »

I checked all the gauges. Benefit of these slow rains is that the ground has time to soak it up instead of running it all out into the rivers. Best I can tell is that the rain just stopped the rivers from going down. Since it stopped raining, I think that's it.

Area 7 about 7 AM give or take a few. Get the Kankakee hunter fact sheet to get the best map. It's on the 113 side of the river, that would be west. If you drive south and hit Warner Bridge, you went about a half mile too far. I have nothing else to do all day. Matt said he'd have to leave by noon. I might be tired of it by then too.

Dan?? Tim Moran? Anyone else?

I'm shutting the computer down in a little bit, so just be there if you can make it.

Hopefully it didn't turn to mud, but I've been there under those conditions and still caught a few fish.

Funny thing is, the only one they don't put a number on is Area 7, but generally it's between 6 and 8. :D :D

You can never fish the same river twice, by the time you get back it's not the same river.

Thanks for that, I just read this however. I was down in Peoria for work on this past Thursday 7\9. Afterwards fished the Mackinaw River outside of Bloomington. Two bites but could not set the hook. One was good sized I sight saw in the shallow. That was cool as you don't get much of that in the Fox.

On the way home I fished the Kankakee and Rock creek for an hour before sunset. Nada! Disapointing as I heard the hype and it looked perfect. Oh well, need to put in the time as with anything.

Ken if you read this before Sunday morning 7\11 and are still going to hit Montgomery and wouldn't mind meeting up for 10-15 minutes let me know.
