11/7/09 Weekend Prospects

Post by Ken G »

The river slowed in its drop and is now at 3070 cfs. I hear that boating down from the Chain is off limits because of high water. I know normally this time of year they drop the water level on the Chain.

This could screw up how fast the water comes down. I think they are going to drop the gates on the McHenry dam to drain the lakes down as quickly as possible. High water and ice don't mix and they don't want that all sitting up there.

I'll keep checking all week. Could make for a good weekend if it drops a lot more.

Well apparently there was a lot more water up north than I thought. They did have the area closed because of high water.

Flowing at 2720 right now. Hasn't really come down much this week. Wading will be tough this weekend. Know where you're going if you're going. I would think if you can find the right spots the fish will be there.

I'm going hunting Saturday at Marseilles and painting fences Sunday. So someone leave reports if you get out.

Found Bass and Walleye in Batavia today. The fish are there, and they are still eating the arties. Hard bottom areas, current edges, and a little scent on your hook doesn't hurt either!

I will try to get out one morning this weekend, nights are getting too hard for me with the Fall semester winding down.

Good luck on your hunt Ken. One shot one kill. ;)
