Like any other blog, random thoughts on random subjects. Might be interesting, or not. I probably won't be putting up much more here. I have other blogs. Only registered users can see this forum.

Mike Jackson Outdoors

Post by Ken G »

I've mentioned before that one of the main reasons I go to the Tinley show is to touch base with and run into people I haven't seen in a while.

One of those was Mike Jackson. Years ago I was on his radio show a few times. But that was when I was guiding, holding the fishing classes and basically had something to sell. We traded current info, chatted a little while and he asked and I promised I would get him out to one of my favorite spots this year.

Got a call today. He wants me to be on his radio show this Sunday.

I warned him that I no longer have anything to sell. He asked some details about that. Gave him some details and told him I basically run this forum, fish when I can and continue to write lame stories and give away info. I asked him what we'll be talking about. "Just follow my lead" he reiterated a few times. He had to. I kept laughing at the comment. "Why are you laughing?" I'm beginning to feel like a lemming I told him.

Luckily, I'm pretty good at following a lead.

So this Sunday, February 21, at 6:35 AM, I will be on the Mike Jackson Outdoors Radio Show.

WSBC-1240 AM and WCFJ 1470 AM on your radio dial.

I imagine the talk will be all about the Fox and rivers, but I'm just going to follow his lead. So who knows.

I do know I've always enjoyed being on his show in the past and he has always asked some of the best questions.

That is awesome Ken. I hope we can tune it in while we are up in Racine freezing our butts off looking for trout.

I'll bring my mini radio and tune in on the ice.

No mention of feculence now........

You wouldn't want to frighten off the masses.

If you've ever heard his show, he runs it pretty tight. Time may be a premium.

You should talk to him about his website.

As for carp, I think they should just let them into the lake and be done with it. They need current to reproduce, so no big deal. Besides, have you ever seen the smolts they throw in their school and eat everything in sight? Those are non-native fish killing off the natives and no one gives a shit.

You never really know how you do when you're in the middle of it.
Mike choreographs it pretty well.
Lots of talk about the Fox, which is why he had me on.
His big question and most of his comments was, except for the usual dam access, why is there nobody out there.

I joked that I've done my best to ruin the river, according to my critics.

The numbers apparently don't agree with that critique.

By the time you're done, you just hope you made sense.

We were up in Racine too early, so we missed your spot on the show. Did you at least get to plug WDJ?

Does he record and podcast his show?
