If I lived anywhere near it, I wouldn't bother fishing anywhere else.

3-9-2010 a new season underway

Post by Bill C. »

In spite of high, cold, murky water I needed to wet a line somewhere.Rain was forecast for early afternoon so I headed out about 9am hoping to get in a couple of hours of fishing and maybe get a few smallies. That's pretty much the way it went.Fished an oxbow area of the river switching baits a few times before hooking up with a jointed Rapala.Nothing big today but it sure felt good to get out.
I don't usually post pictures unless the fish are bigger than average but since this was my first of the year you'll just have to except it.
Water temp-42 degrees, high with poor visibility, typical spring conditions.

At least you got out.
I'll take a picture of any size fish. I'm not picky. Especially if I can do something a little more interesting with the shot.

At least you're smiling. Nothing worse than guys holding fish and frowning. What's with that?

Nice catch. When it comes to the first few fish of the season, who cares about the size of the fish. Nice job on the water today.
