Nice little story. One of your better ones.
1. Calculus is a waste of your life. Everything you need to know will be in a book.
2. When you watch the weather, they also tell you what the wind is doing.
3. For spring salmon, try going up the Cal Sag next time.
4.

We knew the wind was going to be bad. The plus side was it was a S/SW blow, for lake anglers, that is about the only strong wind that is manageable out there in a little boat. Didn't make it any less annoying though.....
Spring coho in the Cal-Sag eh? Would have never thought of that..... I thought both kings and coho spawn in the fall.
Calculus blows, yes, but it is a requirement for my degree. Eventually I'm sure I will learn that all I need is my TI-83 and ohms law. Until then I am a slave to the institution.

Hey, I wasn't sure where this story was going, you guys didn't catch many fish. You guys were still having fun, catching up on old times and catching fish kind of took a back seat to hanging out and talking about old stories and also backing the trailer up with ease like a million other times. " As we got onto the Eiesenhower my boat& trailer blew over". " A semi-trailer ran over my boat" or you got a speeding ticket. I thought I was going to read one of those quotes at the end of your story, just because everything had been flowing in such a nice relaxed way. Well good story and I'm glad none of those quotes came true

That's the rumor anyway. I only have reliable sources.Special Ed wrote:Spring coho in the Cal-Sag eh? Would have never thought of that..... I thought both kings and coho spawn in the fall.
Calculus was the only class in my life that I flunked. Was able to pass it the next quarter with a D. My prof also taught the Statics and Strengths of Materials class, which I aced. He asked how and why. Calculus is theory, you guys are just making shit up. Statics is applied calculus, you get it wrong and your building or bridge will collapse.
I think that's why I got the D next time.

Re: Arguing with Idiots is.....
Calc is not much more than 3 dimensional areal estimation.
thats hard for folks to grasp.
want theory, ..try linear algebra or numerical modelling
or other classes i have had that even the teacher has never used....
hey you need help let me know.
Calc is like suntan lotion.
Works best for the user when applied heavy and multiple applications..
meaning repeat doing problems until its second nature.
And like some things, its best to not understand "how" it works,
only that if done correct, the result is good!
