Isle La Cache
Looks like ive got an early morning trip in the works for Saturday on the des plaines at Isle La Cache in Romeoville. I live probably less than 10 minutes from here but never have fished it yet. Anyone have any input on what to expect; what works or general info? I'm assuming its mostly largemouth and pike through there? Any likelyhood of smallies or walleye? I figure I'll be tossing the usual jig and grubs, drifting minnows with hook/splitshot, and maybe some spinnerbaits and jerkbaits/rapalas? Any help as always will be much appreciated.

If Andrew and Dan don't chime in on this one, I'm going to ban them from the site.

Yeah, the dumb kid wants everyone to come visit his site but heaven forbid he should visit others.
Not enough tournament talk and fish porn here I guess.

Andrew cracks me up sometimes..... I bet many of us were just like that when we were 20 somethings.
John,
- Do some research on Andrews site about Isle La Cache. Also anything posted about Romeoville. Seems most guys fish North of there a bit.
If I had the extra cash laying around for a new set of waders, I would be fishing the DPR, Duper, and Fox next week. The rivers are about to go off the charts good for the next couple weeks. Especially the Fox, those post-spawn mamas get hungry after they work off the post-coital depression.

That what I've been doing sounds like there are some nice pike through that area. I know exactly what you mean about the rivers Ive been getting more and more excited; the fish were already starting to come off their beds last weekend. I will be out tomorrow after work on the duper, Saturday morning early at DPR in Romeoville (obviously) hopefully back out on the duper late Saturday afternoon, and then a marathon all day Sunday; not quite sure where yet.Special Ed wrote:

Re: Isle La Cache
I don't think so. I didn't really start fishing till I was 40.Special Ed wrote:I bet many of us were just like that when we were 20 somethings.
When I was 21 (that would be 1977), it was pretty obvious to me that fish didn't have things like breasts and hang out at all the new punk bars that were just getting started.
Who had time for fishing?
Being an anarchist was time consuming.

Re: Isle La Cache
Sorry. Been too busy chasing sets of breasts and fine asses all week long... Along with finishing up with school.
No time whatsoever for fishing as we know it. I'm serious.
I'll be at this specified location tomorrow afternoon with my sister's boyfriend. It's the plan anyways. Wanted to do Lake Michigan off shore for Smallmouths because they were smashing me yesterday afternoon but with possible 30mph winds I say hell no to the idea.
Will let you crackheads know how it fares.
That Isle La Cache isn't much of a secret, but we like to keep it that way.
