Be happy things are growing out there
I went to Vegas last week end for a wedding. had some fun, that shit gets old after a couple of days. Nice and sunny and you could lounge out by the pool with out breaking a sweat. When leaving I was happy as hell to get out of there because something was dragging me down and just making me feel wierd. Then it dawned on me that I feel like this because I'm in a desert. It is a dead place!! Just dry , dead crumbling and dry ,tasteless air. Nothing grows there. Getting home felt good smelling the rain, the trees etc. Thats what I think.

I was there last weekend too. It was fun but by the 5th day out west in AZ and Vegas I couldnt wait to get home because I was having fishing withdrawals. Get back and the rivers are over their banks and still arent back to normal! Hit a pond with my daughter yesterday and had a great time watching her put a hurtin on the gills. She hooked into a bass that was prob 4+lbs but with 2lb test on an ultra light pole with the drag too tight the fight didnt last too long; still she was EXCITED!!!!! A great day but am really missing the river right now.

Thats how you get the little ones into it. Find a good blue gill pond and they keep focused. We got in at Midway at mid-night a week ago tonight. Coming home we got off 55 at rt 126 and took 126 out to Minkler rd. in the Oswego\Yorkville area. That rain was coming down so heavy, I thought we were going to float off the road. However it felt great just to have some moisture in the air. I also pretty much realized that the creeks and rivers would be pretty crazey. I went over the Fox on Orchard rd last thursday and had to be zero visibility. It was pretty high and it seemed extra muddy. I took my two boys to Starved Rock yesterday and the Illinois was high. They were all still lined up and fishing along the railing fishing though. Or should I call it waiting(for the bells to ring). That area creeps me out for some reason. Afew years ago I was throwing a twister in and actually fishing by those guys, It didn't go to well. Anyways the boys enjoy going there and going on some trails. Once the tired bitching starts we leave, My 7 yr old is kind of a lazy ass. We go down there a bunch during the warm months, we just zip down rt 71.
