Yep, saw a fish, it was on the end of my line. Actually two more after that. I've been fishing the river a couple hours here and there when i had time. Action so far has been pretty much non existent. Out of the last 4 outings i managed a snake pike and a dink crappie.
Today coming home from work decided to make a detour before heading home. Fished from 3:30 to 6. Still trying to figure out everything that has changed with the river. 3 fish caught, 2 pike around 20" and first Walleye (lost one at my feet a couple weeks ago) he was about 16". Figures when i catch a couple decent fish no camera
Both Northern caught in current seams and they hit hard, inhaling my x-rap. The walleye was caught in fast current casting across river swinging the bait downstream and bring it back to me adding twitches and pauses here and there.
I hope the action will start to get better, will probably be out friday after work anyone else welcome to join.

You can never fish the same river twice, by the time you get back it's not the same river.

Re: Fish Sighting in the DesPlaines
I wish I could find some of the info I used to have on where guys used to catch a lot of pike way up north on the Des Plaines. I'll try to look at a map and see if it refreshes my memory.
Used to be a number of sauger caught where you're fishing. Start taking a good look at the walleye fins and see if you notice the black dots about the size of a dime on them. Sauger run a little smaller too.
Wish I could get out. The move to a new place ate up my October weekends and now I've started a part time weekend gig with the new Orvis opening in Yorktown Shopping Center.
I just want one more trip for the year.
