Tuesday AM Perca Flavescens, PM Micropterus dolomieu

From the Wisconsin border to the Illinois River, some of the best and easily accessible fishing in the Chicago area.

8:30 AM CST, the river took a nose dive for you to exactly 2000.

Yesterday afternoon the creeks were devoid of fish. A few taps and one self release. Not what I expected, but too lazy to go anywhere else.

They are in the river, probably gorging on everything they can find. With the temps going up and the river dropping and clearing it should be a veritable smorgasbord in there right now.

Plans for me may change, I just got an invite to hit the big lake Wednesday night...

It's just one of many, she can live without you for one of them. 8-)

You can almost hear the sucking noise of the water from my house. Someone pulled the plug on the drain.

I want to get behind the islands. 1200 is where I'm most comfortable, but I'll do 1400.
Or opposite shore up from Orchard. Has to be 800 or below for that. No easy way to get where I want to be.

I bet we hit 1600 by the end of the day.

Should be ripe for a Tuesday evening trip. I'm thinking I might wade Tuesday night anyway since my big lake plans for whatever reason have a tendency to crumble at the last minute.

Let me know where you fish tonight so I can make sure I'm not walking right behind you the next day.

The wife is off work the next few days, may just hang out. Don't get to do that very often.

We probably jinxed the water drop. Now it will level off and stay that way for another week.

Don't say that!

If you feel like a rod wrapping lesson Thursday would be good. Lots of stuff going on in my little shop right now.

Park District training Wednesday and Thursday evenings. I have to remember to go. I'll be sitting here watching the gauges and make the wrong decision.

1430 at 7:45 CST.

It really dropped over night. I have this feeling it's going to level off and takes it's sweet time from here on.
