I never said they don't work. I don't have the patience for them. While you were casting your topwater for a couple of hours trying for that one fish, I would have caught at least 25 others that aren't interested in coming to the surface.

Orchard Road, the duck blind side, walk down the middle of the channel and cast all over the place.

But you'll have to wait till end of August into September for that.

I know how to do it, it just bores me to tears.

You're head is definitely not big enough and you don't have on your Elton John sunglasses...at least you weren't using a baitcaster.

In all fairness, the water that I pulled out 6 smallies this size on this popper was crystal clear and cold. Should give you a clue as to where it was...

The smallies here would not take the grub btw. Besides the water was only inches deep and the popper allowed me to work the area more thoroughly without snagging bottom constantly.

Also caught a LM out of the same area and this guy:

were they pumping at the time ?
What a long, strange trip it still is .

Put a glide in your stride, a dip in your hip and come onto the mother ship .

Really...

Was there for barely a couple of hours Wednesday for the sunset cruise. Caught 12, one 16 and one 17, and missed another 13.

Did I never show you how to use those things as a topwater?

Been getting email reports from different people. Apparently the rain we had really turned on the fishing. Went out Saturday night to a small stretch and only went 5 and 5, but got a note that earlier in the day, same stretch, a couple went 18 and twelve.

We need more rain.
