Don't ever use the auto/update intallers. They work kind of, but cause problems.

Go to the phpbb site. Download version 3.0.5. Follow the simple complicated as hell instructions.

Just make sure you back everything up before you do anything. It actually does go smooth when it goes right. If not, you just wanna cry and shut the whole stupid thing down.

You need to know this stuff. You're future clients are going to request it someday. I know just enough to be dangerous.

Shit, just checked. Now they're up to 3.0.6. Oh boy, something to screw up.

I'll contact my computer nerd friend next week once this fishing schedule settles down. He originally did it and he will do it this time.
