I just recently started reading for pleasure. Since Christmas I've read 2 books which were both great reads. The first one is called Zipping my Fly by Rick Tosches. It was a great book about his mini fly fishing adventures. He has a great way of writing that really gives you a visual of what he is talking about. The other book I finished recently is called On the Run, An Angler's Journey Down The Striper Coast by David DiBenedetto. I envy this guy. He took a two week trip from Maine to the Carolinas doing nothing but fishing for Stipers. Wow how awesome that would be. The book I'm currently reading is called Sex, Death, and Fly-Fishing by John Gierach. First book by him that I've picked up, and it wont be the last. I can read books on fishing and adventures for hours, but when it comes to books for my insurance classes, I last about 5 minutes.

Look up the books by Paul Quinnett.
They are collections of short stories/essays.
He's a psychologist/angler and the connections he makes between the two are wonderful.
Pavlov's Trout
Darwin's Bass
And my favorite, Fishing Lessons, which almost have nothing to do with fishing lessons.
The River Why, by David Duncan.
Early Love and Brook Trout, by James Prosek.
Gierach's Trout Bum of course.
I have more, but that will take you all year.

I started collecting Field & Stream, Sports Afield, etc from ~1920-1960.
Amazing reading.
Hunting & fishing stories post WW1, WW2 and Korea.
especially when they talk about fish & game populations on the 80 and 90's..
Which was the late 1800's....
great reading, i buy a bunch off ebay several times a year.
Non outdoors I read natural history, non-fiction scifi phenomena, science fact trends.
Though i can read Stephen King.
To me grisham varieties are boring..
I need data..

Damn scientists.
I have a stack of Fishing Facts mags from about 30 or 40 years ago that I've never looked through. One of my dad's friends gave them to me just to get them out of his own house.
I should finally get around to looking at them.
