Hey all, I'm Chris and I'm new to fishing. Fished with lures for the first time about a year ago; waded for the first time last fall, freaking obsessed with fishing. If you really want to know some stuff, I wrote a thing about how I got into fishing over at Sam Bennett's Fox River Fishing.net- http://foxriverfishing.net/article/twis ... -beckstrom I like to fish for lots of species and explore lots of different kinds of waters, although I think my absolute favorite thing is wading for smallies... But I'm also perfectly happy catching tons of little green sunfish. I like catching fish!
I've got a blog called CB Fishes ( http://cbfishes.blogspot.com ) where I write things about my misadventures. Not only am I new to fishing, but I'm new to the outdoors; so far I love it and just want to be outside as much as possible. The internet, specifically message boards like this one- and specifically people like Ken- have been incredibly helpful to me wrapping my brain around this fishing thing. Thanks for spilling your guts and sharing your tips!
I used to be a freelance musician, then I ran a computer lab at Columbia College, now I do tech support for ChartCapture, supporting scanners and touchscreens and computers and stuff. I fish as much as possible, make lots of homemade lures (some of them even catch fish) and also make music (you can hear some stuff at http://music.chrisbeckstrom.com or http://chrisbeckstrom.tumblr.com/ )
It's great to be here, Ken is the man, and I look forward to reading y'all's adventures and sharing mine too.
Tight lines!
