In the last few days I thought it was a good idea to try to write an article about creek fish migrations. Primarily about fishing above and below impoundments like Shabbona Lake, Lake Holiday and the like. The next 6 to 8 weeks are perfect times to fish the up and down stream sides of any of these lakes. Since fish move based on water temperatures, being there every week if possible is the only way to make sure you hit them at the right time. I've found out in the past, the more stained the water is, the less spooky the fish and the more you can catch.

The above paragraph is a hell of a lot more interesting than the four I just got done struggling with and will now be tossed into the computer trash.

I realized that I was writing the same worthless comments that I abhor reading. The endless drab commentary on where, what and how to fish. I am not an article writer. I write stories. The quality of those stories some times leave a lot to be desired, but going out and doing something, then writing about it, is much more interesting than sitting somewhere and telling others where to go. Even though I may have never done it myself and it's all just theory.

So that's it. No articles, ever, unless it's based on what I'm doing. Then I guess whether it's an article, story or commentary can be left to the reader. If they get boring, well then, there's not much I can do about it. I'm sure I was enjoying myself at the time.
