About 45 minutes of fishing

Found out that if the creek didn't have fish in it a day or two before the floods, there's nothing in there now. Did hit a stretch of Big Rock on Saturday. Saw one carp porpoise and that was it.

45 minutes on the one creek that had fish in it before the flood proved worthwhile.

I Caught a few Fish

I am forced to use my two personal days or donate them to the cause so I will be out meandering... Not exploring that would take too much effort on my part. Did catch two yesterday on a spinner bait letting it flutter down in some depressions made by storm pipes. The river is still ripping and the fish certainly would not come out and smack the bait. I may try to fish a creek once it warms a bit but like you were saying Ken, the water is so far up in them, and getting around the deeper holes to better spots is still not manageable, at least not down in my neck of the woods. Still nice to get out and feel the sun a bit, hope the Smallies are feeling the same way today!!

Waubonsee was completely choked with river redhorse. In the library pool I was snagging them every cast for 30 minutes. They fight better than walleye, but not much.

Nice bullhead, Ken. The Fox still holds the yellow bullhead state record at 5 lbs 4 oz. Set back in '55.

Knowing where you live, why do I have a feeling I know one of those pipes. Was once a favorite high water spot. Haven't done it in years.

That creek is known for it's run of redhorse Ed. Gets one of the highest concentrations of all the creeks. Head upstream next time, as far as you feel like walking. You'll see how it works. On a good day, you'll be surprised at the size of the fish up there.

I do find it odd that I've never caught a bullhead out of the Fox or its creeks before. I'm wondering if it's a pond escapee. The pond used as a bypass is just upstream a few hundred yards.
