Ken?

Haven't heard much from you hunting-wise. Lost interest?

Reminded me... if I wanted to get an entry-level bow, what should I get? Don't want to get spendy if I decide it's not for me.

I only got out once last season I think, a freebie pheasant hunt with Dale.

I was dead broke this winter and hunting costs more. More for gas, there's not much real close, shells and the time effort is more involved if you're doing ducks and geese or pheasant. I have permission to use the blind at Saw Wee Kee, so we'll see.

Deer is a whole nuther investment in time and money.

Sam, I have 5 recurves. My father-in-law is a traditionalist, which I like, so he started me on a little collection. He has around 200 recurves and long bows.

Most guys shoot compounds, but I like shooting the recurves. The only other time I went deer hunting was in Virginia at the club I belonged to. I insisted on getting my first one with a muzzle loader and succeeded. Never did go deer hunting again.

Hopefully with the new job, that will change.

Ed, you asking cause you're interested? We can do Saw Wee Kee over the winter. I like squirrel hunting too if you want. I have enough guns for squirrels. My big bird hunting gun is a single shot. Would be nice to get something better.

Your hunting stories, especially the squirrel hunting, were fantastic.

I'd be up for a hunt this winter, goose, duck, squirrel, rabbit, anything.

I don't think I did any squirrel hunting this past season. I know just where to take you. Start getting in shape now.

I've been to the Marseilles unit before, looks like a great place to hunt.

Since I started job 2 I've lost 20 lbs. Gone down 2 pant sizes. 5 or 6 hours of hustle at the end of your day will do that to ya.

We should go there. It's a pretty good hike the way I do it. Start easy, go through the hillier stuff, end easy.

You got a foid card? I have enough guns, plus you'll have to get the hunting license. Half the time I don't even see a squirrel, but being out there before sunrise is well worth it.

I can stand to lose 20, already lost a few. More important is I need to tighten things up. The river works wonders on me this time of year from the waist down. It's the rest that suffers.

I have my FOID and as a disabled vet I have a lifetime hunting license. Just need any additional permits or tags if the hunt requires one.

Who knows, might be able to show you a thing or two about shooting.
