Made it out to the river today after work, sleeting and windy made it not very comforatable to be out . Meet up with Andrew and Tim from FHQ. Got the skunk off with this within the first 15 minutes

Alot of casting and no catching, Tim left first and Andrew soon followed, i decided to stay for half hour longer and moved to a spot i havent fished to much. First cast in to strong current I get slammed, I know walleyes dont fight to well but when they are sitting directly in fast moving water its quite a challenge to get them out. Heres a couple pics, not the best but I havent mastered the solo camera shots.

11/9 Same spot

Fished the river again tonight for a couple hours. Fished the same area concentrating in fast current, i dont know what it is with these walleyes but they are always in the current, never catch any anywhere else.

Years ago, further down stream under a bridge, I caught a big orange crayfish.
It grabbed on to a twister and wouldn't let go.
As I was reeling it in, another big orange crayfish grabbed on to the other crayfish.
So I reeled them both in.
So I figured I may as well put one of them on a hook and use it for bait.
Caught another big orange crayfish.
Probably could have kept doing that all day, but I really wanted to catch a fish.

Nice walleye.

If you're going to keep fishing all winter, do you have any interest in becoming a source for Dale Bowman?
I'm not getting out anymore, I think, and I like to hook him up with reliable sources for his Wednesday fishing reports.

Let me know if you're interested.

DARTH, if you read this, the same goes for you. Looks like you and Karen will be out ice fishing too at some point. Want to be a RELIABLE Bowman source?

I'll hook you guys up via email.

Ken, i think i might be interested just a few questions. This would be just for the Desplaines River? I probably wont be fishing to much anywhere else the rest of the year, and i only fish the river south of Hoffman Dam. I was looking at Dale Bowmans column and there is no DPR report, would he be adding one? Would it be ok to look through other websites and find info on the northern DPR? This would be a weekly thing right. Would i still have to give reports even in the dead of winter when the river is iced over or not much to report? How in depth do you need to get in these reports, do you have any examples on the reports you would give him. I know alot of questions i just want to make sure i understand what I am going to have to do.

Matt, here's the general idea. Scroll down: http://blogs.suntimes.com/bowman/2008/1 ... 10508.html

Ken, I don't want to get the perception of being "nosy", but I would be interested in a correspondent gig as well. DPR and its tribs. I could give Matt an extra hand if he needs it - (I'll leave it up for you two, to decide).

I just left a post on the Fox forum with some details.
No such thing as being nosy.

Dale will use good consistent reports.
He's not always real picky, just wants it right.
He likes turning people on to the unusual too.

Andrew put up a link to a sample.

You have to remember, I have been told I have a unique writing style. So my stuff is just different, more personal.

Dale only has so much space, so he'll edit what you say anyway.

Have fun guys.
