i used to fish just above the confluence with the iroquois.
Had a buddy whose parents had friends that lived on the river.
Great folks, very nice retired, they let us park in their yard and wade in.
nice cats and smallies on easy wading.
They gave us permission to come any time to park if we cleaned up after ourselves.
It was a few years we tapped that spot.
One day a guy meets us at shore and asks hows fishing, blah blah..
then asks how come we parked in his yard.
Seems my buddys friends passed away and the family sold the house!
we never knew for years..
they were either never home when we parked and waded, or we were quiet enough to never cause them to notice....
we explained how we came to park & fish and what we were doing...
then the guy was nice and politely asked us to never come back..
DOH!
