To show you how well I know that creek, I recognize the background in every shot.
Maybe that's why guys try to hide them.
If gas wasn't so expensive, I'd be out on the Apple and exploring some of the creeks that feed into the Rock.

i don't mind giving out spots or info in my reports, and neither does my brother... it takes more than just knowing a spot to go there and catch fish!
I am also a firm believer in your idea ken, that the vast majority of people (probably 98%) that read these reports on the various fishing sites don't bother to ever go to the spot anyways. Good luck all!!

You'll know I've been proven wrong when I quit mentioning them by name.
So far that hasn't happened in 13 years, and I've shown my spots to 100's of guys when I was guiding, doing the classes and just showing friends. There was a big interest in the river and creeks around 2000-2003, then everyone just seemed to disappear.
Besides, you saw what it takes to get in there, not many willing to do that and that is probably the easiest creek I know. You should see what I go through on Little Rock some times.
Better for us I guess.
I've got about 5 to 10 miles of creeks I want to explore near my house in Yorkville. I expect to run into no one.
I say it every year and then run out of time . . . I gotta plan an outing for all of us. Maybe, maybe, maybe . . . and no smart ass comments about that from Dan and Andrew.

Have you fished many of the Fox River Creeks? I know you've ventured out into Mill, Little Rock, and Big Rock, but have you fished any others? I'm always up for some hiking/exploring if you can find a nice, isolated creek to wade through for the afternoon. As long as there is somewhere I can park and get to the creek within about 30 minutes or so, it works for me.
I was going to check out a couple other Fox creeks for smallmouth, but I don't want to waste an entire day fishing them if there's no fish to be found. You know, too shallow, bad water quality, etc.

I can definitely agree that not many people are going to be willing to hike through heavy brush for 30 minutes to get to a creek
I personally feel being that isolated from everything else is the best part about it and completely makes the experience.
I actually have a friend that I've basically introduced to fishing over the past 8 months or so and he's got the bug real bad
He'll have his waders this week and I'll be introducing him to the wonderful world of wading the rivers and creeks throughout the rest of the year.
We'll probably be on Mill again sometime early next week.
I'm with my brother that I'm always up for exploring some waters for an afternoon
Maybe we'll have to get out with ya sometime. Take it easy and keep on fishin!
