What the hells with that!

Post by Ken G »

I could feel the chill in the house as I wandered around pretending I was interested in getting ready for work. The weather report for the past night called for temps in the mid 40's. It seemed colder.

Part of my morning routine is to pull together my lunch for the day by going out to the garden and grabbing a big handful of cherry tomatoes. Tiki the bitch queen won't allow that to happen without her presence. While I rummage through the tomato plants, she has to scour the yard for any scent of any animal that may have violated her space over night. When found, each new scent needs to be pissed on. Amazing how much piss a dog can force out.

By the time I was nearing the end of the tomato picking, my hands felt like they were freezing. As I walked toward the back door, I exhaled. I could see my breath. That's just not right. At least not yet.

The bitch queen on the other hand was loving it. Butt on the ground, nose in the air checking for more scents. She'd sit there for hours if you let her.

LOL! It's been nice the past few nights Ken. Temps in the low to mid 60's overnight. It is SO comfortable to sleep with the windows open when it's nice like that at night. I felt the same thing as you this morning. I was up at 6:00am and it was oddly cold. I had to shut my balcony door it was so cold in my house. I don't like that it's only September 17th and we're already into the 50's and 40's at night. Water is going to cool down way too fast with those kind of temps. The Dupage was colder already Tuesday than it was when we went on Labor Day just the week prior. At this rate the water temps will be in the 40's before October :( I'll be out there Sunday bright and early, though. I'm really looking forward to this. I have a couple new things I want to try on the Fox this fall and we'll see how it works out for me :) See ya Sunday!!!
