A little late posting this oh well. Spent the about 6 hours hiking and fishing along the river. This was my first visit so I wasn't sure what to expect I was pleasantly surprised at how beautiful the river is. I parked by a bridge and headed for the first hole downstream of the bridge. My 2nd of 3rd cast with a black sammy produced a 12 inch smallie. I was pumped this is gonna be a great day I thought. I'm thinking to myself "I'm not that far away from the bridge and I quickly get a fish on a topwater I'm gonna slay them today". Had to bust my hump the rest of the day to scratch out another 5 smallies, 1 greenie and 3 rock bass. Caught fish on white grubs, mustard colored tubes the sammy and a fluke. The river was very low and clear. One of smallies followed the fluke all the way to my feet, I paused the fluke and it lay quivering on the surface and I swear I heard the fish say "F*** it. I'm gonna eat it" before he nailed it. No size to any of the fish but we all now the river has potential.
