Got out for about an hour and a half. Testing a theory on creeks and I couldn't remember how these two compare to Mill Creek.

They were crystal clear, colder and not a single sign of life. In Mill Creek I was kicking bait fish out of the way in the shallows as I walked.

In these, I never saw a single swimming thing. It was like the creeks had been sterilized.

Got one more thing to test and hopefully I'll find the time to put it in writing. Maybe over the winter if I have to.

Basically, where the hell did all the fish go and why are they all stacked up in Mill Creek.

It's hurting my brain. Had a few hours to go out this afternoon in the rain.

I have never seen the river this clear this early. It usually doesn't look this clear till December.

Makes for suck ass fishing unless you want to carry around a bucket of minnows. And I don't want to do that. I did catch 5 smallies, but had to work for them. All but one in water about 3 feet deep.

In water over 3 feet deep with minnows you'll probably clean up.

I know why the water is clear. No algae. Too cool and water is too cool.

My season may end early on the river if this is what I'm up against.

You can end it early if you only want to pursue smallies. The walleye bite is about to turn on, so you're more than welcome to get out with us for that :)
