B- 4 the 2009 fishing season is history, I just wanted to say thanks Ken for this great web site… I know you’re probably a bit humble about it all...and would say its no big deal…but I’ve come to a better appreciation of this site and the information you’ve freely shared after wading the various stretches of the Fox river that you’ve described- the fact that you’re willing to share information after putting in so much time and effort.. is definitely appreciated…you’re tips and tid bits of information have made me a better river angler…
Thanks again …..and thanks to all who participate on the water dog journal………..

Well thanks guys.
If the person is out there that has covered as much of the Fox and it's tributaries as I have, then they aren't talking and I haven't met them. That's not meant to be bragging. That's just the way it is. I went into this thinking everyone does what I do. Boy, was I wrong.

13 years ago when I cast my first line into the Fox, I knew virtually nothing about fishing, less about river fishing and nothing about the Fox. I had just turned 40 that year. I fell in love with flowing water and was determined to learn how to fish them. I thought I would bring everyone along for the ride. I feel like a kid in a candy store when I'm out there.

This is a big river and the nay sayers will tell you I've ruined it. Then how come after all these years I can still go out and run into nobody. Even to the spots that I have shown to probably a couple of hundred people.

Some day I'll get tired of this or I just won't be able to physically do it anymore. My knees and hips are already starting to tell me that. That's one of the reasons why I want to get things down on paper. A website can disappear overnight if the bill to keep it up and running doesn't get paid. But a book can be around for a couple of generations.

Next year, more creeks. In the last couple of weeks I came across some new access points. Far up stream and not sure how they will produce. Too late this year to bother. I'm already looking forward to May to go try these.

Policy of my site remains the same, you want to know some locations of where to go? Just ask.

And it really is no big deal.
