Love the Foggy Mornings

Don't know or care if the fishing is any better on mornings like this.
But I love standing in the middle of the river, insulated by dense fog.
Can barely see the shores. Sounds are more muffled.
All you have to think about and deal with is that 100 feet that you can actually see.
Everything beyond that temporarily no longer exists.
Hope somebody is out there.

Standing in 39 degree water up to your waist, water pushing against your lumbar just right...
You dressed perfectly this morning, warm...the bone chilling dampness is kept at bay because of your years of experience in fabrics and layering, and then...
Thump Thump! Fish on!........first one of the day...
I love life

I woke up late, I was up no less than 7 times last night with sniffly, drippy, sickly little kiddys.
Almost didn't have time to make coffee, barely had time to brush the heavy dew off the windows before tearing out of the driveway only to reach the end of my street realizing I left my coffee cup on top of my car.....
Took it easy on my way into work, flashed my lights at people driving with brights on in the fog all the way there. idiots..... Then the sun came up.
Fog had engrossed everything, it was thick, heavy, cool, and it made me wish I was drifting something tipped with a minnow down a current seam somewhere........ anywhere........ anywhere but here, that's for damn sure. I don't think words describe how badly I needed my coffee at that moment.
I got in and started getting ready to get to work, boss looks at me and goes "Damn Ed, you look like shit."
Me - "Yeah, thanks......."
