The Hemingwade

Because of a lack of better things to do, I put my name into google.

Amazing what came up. Because of Dale and people posting his reports, I'm on sites I never heard of and on one that I know the owner doesn't even like me. Old articles. CLF posts dating back to 1999. Things I can barely remember writing showing up all over the place.

Kind of fascinating, okay, fine, maybe just for me.

But, I came across this, written by Jamie who coined the phrase The Hemingwade for the area around the Millhurst Dam. Forgot that it was 2003. This is his description of the days events. Scroll down on the page when you get there. All the links to images are gone, but I have a bunch of them archived some where.

Very interesting.. google twade (my other name on sites) and you get a photo of a guy that can't hold a walleye.

Not only hemingwade is brought up Ken but hillbilly mafia.... um.. Scary juxtapositions.

Long story. Quite a few former friends involved. You will never see a more hard core group of fishermen prowling this area ever again. Might be one of the reasons I fish alone so much now.

I believe this is the picture that coined the phrase.

I didn't take many pictures that day. May have been the cold and the Guiness.

Red wine and river wade.... sounds like a blast. I know that area, the concrete, from my canoe trips. I paddled a buddy of mine down that way of the fox while he decided to duck hunt from the front. It snowed on us that day, it was wonderful.

It ended at bristol town pub. pbr's and a buger. no duck.

I've been telling myelf the 1st good day above freezing I am out. Tell me when ..i want to hit big rock hard this year.
