Ed,
Whenever you make a post on your blog, pick the appropriate sub forum and put up a link.

If it doesn't fit any of those categories, leave it here on the Waterdog Blog.

May as well promote Andrew's best writer. :D :D

You are as gracious as you are wise Ken. However you are a terrible judge of literary achievement.

Thank you for the invitation though, I will be sure to put some links up here.

I used to post my reports on all the sites. Didn't think much of it until I started to realize that nobody was really reading them. Only the guys that are loyal to one site or another get any real response to their posts. Mostly from the same people over and over again too, kinda "click-ish".

I thought about spreading the word in a similar manner with my blog, but I just don't have the desire to advertise my inadequacies as a writer. :|

For one, quit beating yourself down as a writer.

That's pretty much a direct quote from Bob Long Jr. speaking to me.

I'm passing the torch to you.

I go back and read my old stuff now and then. Now and then I had moments where it looks like I could put together a paragraph. Most of the time I feel I failed miserably. But for some reason, I get complements on it.

You already have a way with words, remember feculence? The hard part is keeping it up. Those who know me know I've slowed down dramatically, but at least I've been able to keep doing it for over 12 years. For better or worse.

Put it in writing, put it out there, see what happens. I wouldn't worry about it if I were you.

Before Husar died, a string of posts talking about him was on CLF. One guy said he couldn't read his stuff because it was too flowery. A lot of others agreed. I have his book that came out a couple of years ago, a few years after he died. It drives home how and why I write. I didn't read the hook, tackle and bullet crap. I read him and Gray's Sporting Journal. Husars was some of the best stuff you'll read, especially for local stuff. And then, even in the book, sometimes a story falls flat.

Just put it down and send it out there.

You'll know when it's crap, because we'll all tell you. :D :D

Thanks guys. It will be hard to keep it up, especially now during the Spring semester. I'll do my best though. The hardest part is tearing myself away from my wife and kids to fish when I really only spend a few hours a week with them.

If I can get into the Spring run of walleyes real good, I think some night-fishing opportunities would fit my schedule well.

I was hoping to get some night fishing footage on the ice this season so I could make a "night-theme" video, however, the opportunity has yet to present itself.

Who knows, I got the green-light to fish friday night...... anyone know of a good lake to drop tip-ups for walleye, and jig for crappies?
