Not much to report in the way of fish, except for seeing a few carp and a smallie hiding under a log. Could not entice them out. Was worth it for the exploring. Matt, John and Sam and me spread out all over the area. Did get to see 14 deer come out of the sparse woods and head across a field. John spotted a couple of coyotes. Muskrats, one with a fish to take home. We did see two other smaller groups of deer, but I'm assuming that was all of them when the 14 took off.

Not many photos today, but the beavers were sharpening their teeth on a fallen limb of the biggest willow tree I've ever seen. Heard years ago that the active ingredient in aspirin comes from the inner lining of the bark of willows. Not feeling good while out on the water, peel off some willow bark and chew on the inside lining.

Maybe the beavers know this and had a headache.

salicylic acid, I believe is the ingredient that helps make aspirin the pain reliever which comes from the willow tree!! My favorite line is baby when you walk you shake like a willow tree , Buddy Guy ...Stevie Ray agree!!! I am looking forward to a bit more heat and higher water , and into the drink I go. I was talking with a couple of guys at Gander mt. the other day and they were complaining about all the high water last spring and summer... I caught more smallies and larger fish over all last year then I have in previous years, it just goes to show you how little, people REALLY want to adjust to conditions , in order to catch fish.
