Going out tomorrow afternoon and looking for suggestions on where to catch my first smallie of the year. I was thinking maybe the Fox in St. Chucks or the duper where the east and west meet. Enyone have some suggestions. Thanks

I would fish slow moving sidewater or eddys along bridges, pilings, and undercut banks on the Fox around St. Chaz. Jig and twister super slow presentation, or 3" ringworms.

The second and third fish came out of the DuPage below Shorewood yesterday.

16 and 14 inches, the river is in perfect condition.

Call Sam and get more spots from him and hit the DuPage. Where the branches come together might be turning on, but I think odds are better the further south you go. Hammel Woods might not be a bad choice too.

The Fox felt much colder yesterday and high water fishing sucks.

If you go to the Fox, mouth of Mill Creek might be worth a stop. In St. Charles hit the whole west side from near the dam down as far as you want to walk. Drop things in and around the trees in the water the further down you go.

Slow and tight to anything in the water breaking current.
