Jake and I started to fish the river about 8:00am and we worked a nice area. Not even a bite. This was not making fishing fun. Being that this was Jake's first time. We did some sight seeing and looking around. The river was in prime shape. Jake and I went back to our cars and moved them and hit this trail. On the trail there was a Strip Mine that Jake and I went to look at. The water was super deep and clear. We seen about 30 turtles jump off a log. We played around but no hits or signs of fish.

We then took a Hike to were I wanted to show Jake one of my favorite spots.
Were hiked it for about 20 minutes then when we go in the water we started casting and WHAMMMM.... JAKE FELL IN TOOK WATER IN... Poor Guy was soaked.. I thought the water was Warm for this time of year but Jake said it was Ice cold. But shortly after Jakes cold fall he was rewared with this bad boy.

Great day out there Sam. Wish I would have come now. Looks like you guys got into em' pretty good. Next time! I don't think this rain will influence the levels enough to where it will be unfishable very long. It's still only at 255. We'll see, but I'd like to get out there this weekend barring the water levels come up too much. Was going to try to go today, but it's a little chilly, and wet. I'll wait for the weekend when it warms back up and it's supposed to be dry again.

you guys are on fire. I went to the falls Good Friday and only caught a 12" er. Keep up the good work but don't spread the word too far. Jay

Now I know how guys used to feel when I would be getting out during the week years ago.

I'm tempted to go to the area I fished 12 years ago. Haven't been back there since. Right up along Mazonia.

But then, the creeks should be normal over the weekend.

Hour drive, 15 minute drive. Decisions, decisions.

Jay, I wouldn't worry about it. Most guys won't hike in 2 minutes let alone 20 or more.

It was a big outing Ken put together last year. Basically about 15 of us met up one morning and fished the Fox River, all going different ways, and working different areas, then met up at the end. Was fun, and got to meet some cool people. Only managed 1 fish the whole day, but otherwise, had a blast!

YOU managed one fish. I vaguely remember 3 or 4 for me.

I have 2 or 3 Death Marches in mind this year. They could wind up as monster quests since one of them is where this was caught.

The stretch along Hoover Forest Preserve and two stretches, North and South Millbrook Forest Preserves. This has a brief description of the property and Google will get you more on these areas.

They will be lots of walking on land and water. We can always do Les Arends again too.

The price of gas is killing my trips further. Can the Mazon handle a Quest?
