4/16 Mill Creek and North Aurora

Decided to try again since last friday produced nothing. This time Mill creek was in perfect condition. Arrived at the creek about 10am armed with a 1/16oz. jig and white and pearl twister. Within minutes i tied into my first smallie of the year. Nothing big but I dont think these fish realize how big they are, all put up terrific fights.
Began working my way upstream picking apart all the deeper holes and catching a few dinks here and there. I then came up to the dam and i knew that they were going to be stacked up in there and i was right. Within 10 minutes i had caught about 10 fish. Nothing big but still a blast, although all the carp and suckers in there made it a pain in the ass trying not to snag them. After that the action died to i jumped up above the dam with no action to speak of. I did see a couple smallies building a bed up there and decided to leave them alone to do there thing.
After a while of nothing i waded back downstream and worked the area closer to the mouth. This is where i landed the bigger fish of the day.
Since i spent most of my time fishing the creek i only had about half hour to fish the river and since N. Aurora was on my way home i fished the dam for a little while. Bait fish were jumping all over the place. Threw my jig and twister in waiting for a hit and got this little guy.
By then it was time to pack it up. Good day of fishing with about 25 fish caught.
