Went out for a wade with my sister's BF for a few hours early this evening. Nothing much happening out there. We casted our asses off for three stinkin' fish.

First time I was out wading any river in nearly 3 weeks, so that was the lone bright spot.

On the other hand, I probably wouldn't expect anything different if I were to return again tomorrow. Might be the same old story - unless water levels shoot up a bit which could be a good thing.

50% chance I'll be fishing the lakefront tomorrow afternoon/ early evening.

I once canoed from Lyons down. I 'd have to look at a map to remember where. Along I-55, I always thought that water was 10 feet deep, it looks channeled. My paddle kept scraping bottom.

If you can figure out how to get there, I'll bet no one fishes that stretch.

It's way shallow there. On a windy day you can see riffles and shallow rocks when driving over the first Avenue and 55 bridges from above. I've seen a few smaller boats there before but I bet it's a journey.

The stretch I'm talking about is even further down along where the river flows along I-55. The big treatment plant is on the east side of 55 at that point. Just looked at a map. Where we got out was Columbia woods just past Willow Springs Road. So that would be from Archer to Willow Springs.

I don't know. Maybe it's because I spent time along there as a kid when the river was a sewer. I just can't imagine spending much time in it.
