I am REALLY missing being out on the river. Last few times it was nice to be out and all but the continuous poor conditions get old after awhile. I have fished ponds with the kids a few times but have a real hard time bringing myself to fish the still water even as much as I want to fish. It just isnt the same and I tend to get bored now. Weather seems a little backward this year. We had a great April/May and now June is all the storms. I am not praying for a drought by any means just rain in moderation with some time for things to drop to normal between instead of consistant high muddy water. Just needed to vent

Will it ever stop raining???
NO.
The Fox isn't in the worst of shape. Was wandering in the water along a shore at Indian Trail Road today and also hit Mill Creek, which wasn't bad.
The fishing was slow and when on the river I wanted to be much further out, but you take what you can get.
The write up should be in Dale's blog tomorrow and I'm working on a still longer version with pictures I want to get up here, uhhhhh, tomorrow. Yeah, that's it. Tomorrow.
High water does get dull pretty quick.

I think Im going to try to head out there over the weekend; I have been putting it off long enough hoping for the Duper to come back down. I used to fish the area by downtown Oswego a few years ago and always had pretty good luck. Usually got in right at the park and head straight across to the stone wall. That little area has always produced. I just dont like fishing there on my own I was almost swept off my feet a few times when the water was up and moving pretty quick. I stopped a few weeks ago right across from the crap plant in Montgomery I think and fished for a few minutes from shore and lost a really nice fish. Any suggestions on some areas to try? I will most likely be playing it very cautious and staying close to shore.

We'll see what happens after today's rain. I'm on the southern edge of a big storm right now. Nothing here, but it looks like north of me got quite a bit. Have to wait for it to all come down stream. By Friday I'll have a better idea.

Well looks like we finally get a break and watching the gauges its coming down pretty quickly. Should be in good shape for this weekend. Thursday will most likely be the first day I can get out. I will probably do a little more exploring around where the two branches meet then hit shorewood and channahon over the weekend. I feel like I havent fished since last year!

I'm watching the Apple and the Mazon. Apple may be out of the question just because of distance. The creeks I like near me might be good by Friday too.
I've given up on the Fox for now. It looks like it's going to take it's sweet time coming down.

Speaking of the creeks Ive been keeping an eye on the aux sable. Early in the year I stopped and took a quick look where it crosses route 6 and looks like a nice little stretch of water. Havent been able to find anyone who has fished it but its been in the back of my mind for awhile now.

Don't bother going around Route 52. Beautiful, but typical prairie mud creek.
I do know the state record rock bass came out of it down from Route 6 somewhere. I've checked that spot too. One of these days I'll fish it.
