Has anyone fished the creek below Shabbona? I've fished Shabbona a few times and never have even looked to see what it looks like at the end of the spillway. Is the creek wadable and would it be worth the trip? I would imagine there would be all types of fish that come over the dam.

They do muskie rescues through there every year or so. I've seen pictures of guys wading up the creek with nets to trap the muskie. Many years ago I stopped to check it out but didn't fish it. I was told at the time not to talk about it much because heaven forbid, every poacher on earth was waiting to go there to wipe it out.
It is Indian Creek and it is one of the best creeks that feed the Fox and it has a very limited amount of access. It was once hinted to me to fish the creek where it flows into the lake. I know on Lake Holiday and Somanauk Creek this works really well.
I did finally find one public park somewhere above Shabonna. That's my way in. Only, I forgot to bookmark the spot and it was a bitch to find.
If you're going out there anyway, may as well bring the waders. I vaguely remember it being a hike to the spillway. My theory is that 90 percent of fishermen refuse to walk more than 100 yards from their car. So I would imagine you would have it all to yourself.
