Anyone recall the Plainfield tornado right around this time 20 years ago?
I was in Aurora with a crew waterproofing basements. We were at a station gassing up around 3pm when the sky got all crazy and GREEEEEN. The storm rolled thru-hail, high winds, nutzo lightening, etc. Afterwards, we starting hearing reports on the radio of the tornado and Plainfield. I think it was an F5 when it hit which is the highest on the scale. A week later, me and some buds were tooling SW on I-55 going camping somewhere and the tornado path was still completely apparent. A farmer's fenceline on the side of the highway was literally caked with debris. I could see where it approached the highway, went over, and continued on the other side. Whoa........
