Hit Starved Rock Area on Saturday.

Lots of short bites.
Fish are up there but not in huge numbers.
Spent about 2-3 hrs casting and hitting several spots.
jig/minnow and hooked minnows were the method.
Hooked one trolling cranks but he got off in main channel.

Saw a number of guys bow fishing.
Didn't see one asian carp jump.

River was very low, and a lil dark.
I had water temps fom 73-74.5

Its early and hopefully October will be great fishing.

Folks on shore fishing outnumbered the boaters 20-1.

Burned some gas and drove around.
Basically glad to get the boat on the water as a test run for a trip to Leelanau, Mi.

Few fish in the box would have been nice.
Weather cooperated so NO wet kids or dog was a nice trade off for empty livewell..

We'll be back down in a few weeks.

:D
