The URL name I want is taken. So do I use a dash to make it unquie, use a .net or just think of a new name.

In return that will change some other ideas. Um. Granted I think a blog name with fishing in it forces me to talk about only one thing.

What name were you thinking?

The dash will only make it look like you took it from the other one because you couldn't think of anything else. It's got to be .com, the others don't make sense.

When you do this and go to set it up, look into using Wordpress as a CMS. You want to set it up so it opens to a static home page and then have a blog tab/page. In the long run that will work to your benefit.

That's what I was doing when I temporarily screwed things up. Do it first so you don't have to fix it later. You may lose the links to your old posts that you put up on other sites. That's what happened to me. Better to do it now than when you have hundreds of posts with broken links.

simplyfishing.com was the idea. Taken.

simply-fishng.com and simplyfishing.net not taken

Which made me think of fishing-headquaters and fishingheadquaters.com and fishingheaderquaters.net.

Catch my drift.

At the same time you get mistake typings that can draw in people. Tons of fourseasonanglers as well. Though call, in away not a lot of new options.

Um.

Don't use Simply Fishing at all. Bob Mehsikomer (sp?) had a show called Simply Fishing, was pretty successful and he may even still be around.

Be more creative.

You have more to offer than just fishing info, use the photo/video/musical side of you to express your intent in a short name.

Or don't worry about your own site, spend more time with Gracie and Jen. Use the free one I gave you to gather your thoughts, and log some time exploring WP. When Gracie is away at college, you can buy your own site, you'll have a huge archive to pull info/ideas/stories from, and you'll have plenty of time to jack around behind the scenes.

Take it for what it's worth, but seriously, your time is precious, spend it wisely.

I agree with Ed
The site I wanted was taken so I went with the dash as well as I took www.legendoutdoors.org.
I contacted the owner of the site I wanted and he wanted over $600 for the domain. No way can I do that, but maybe in the future.

Consider yourself lucky then. The new style looks really good btw. Clean it up so all the text is readable over the background image and you have a winner.

I recently got peopleholdingfish and I've had isgoodwithbeer for awhile. So no go for you there. :D

Don't forget the Wordpress/CMS suggestion.

I just checked, outdoorsoverbydere.com is available. :D
I kind of like that one.

yaheydere.com was taken.

Cory, never noticed the .org till you brought it up. That's generally organizations Conservationfoundation.org, things like that. If you told me Legend Outdoors I'd type it in with .com.

Habit I guess.

I just typed in headupmyass.com for myself and it's taken. :( :(

With all of the sites now .net .com and .org have gotten bleed together.

I wonder if

whenismywifegettinghomesoicangetoutandfish.com is taken.

Apparently fatchicksinpartyhats.com is taken as well.
