Re: Tyler Creek Forest Preserve

It is. Smallmouth (like most sunfish) require water that is slow moving. They will swim up these feeder creeks to spawn and then will return to the main water source (Fox River). The fry can and usually stays in the smaller body of water until they can handle the currents and the food sources. Did ...

Re: Fox River Fishin Musician

I've played drums for going on 13 years now. Haven't picked up the sticks since last summer. I might need to clean the garage out to set up the set again.

Re: JohnDyers34

Hey John. I noticed in another post that Ed and Ken were able to steer you in a decent direction regarding the drift boat. I have no problem exploring the stretches further south that Ken mentioned. As for the other areas of the Dupe. I know enough to get us onto some decent looking water with safe ...

Re: 2500 @ 6am

Thanks Rob! I have a feeling I'll hate it too. I know the rocks around this barrel of fish are brutal. The line gets caught under more than anything. I'll probably end up making a basket out of crap laying around the house and giving it a try. I know that cleaner you are talking about. Depending on ...

Re: 2500 @ 6am

I was shooting across the lake just fine when that wind died down. Between the rocks on the shore causing problems with my line laying out and the weed growth behind me I might have to do as you say and start bringing the spinning gear there (if I can find it). Night time top water will be key. I ...

At least I caught something on a fly rod in front of Ed finally. Who cares that he was catching 16" bass and I landed a 7" Bluegill right?

Re: Ed, Need Beer Advice

Oh of course no driving. Had a friend pick us up and took a taxi home. Expensive ride home but safer then the other option. Fest was amazing. By the time I got up to 3 Floyds I was a little tipsy so not sure which one I liked, but I did try the two they had. Two Bros was not there for some reason so ...

Re: Ken You Suck

The outing doesn't have to target carp. I can throw flies all day and not catch anything. Trust me, I am used to it. :P

Re: Ken You Suck

I know my day to fish this weekend will be Sunday again after the sweet day of hops.
Not sure where I'll fish yet.
