Today the river was very low and clear, I could not believe how beautiful this are was. I am so sad I did not get out here soon in the year. Next year I am planning on mastering it. But I will let the pictures talk.
Fished from 6:15 am to 11:30 covered about 2 miles or water.
I landed about a half of dozen fish.. Then I had a monster.. I was playing her and she got away... I have caught some nice fish but with not alot of current this fish was nice I bet it was over 17 never say her.. I pulled a "KEN"

Damn you got this up quick man. My Dad and I got out with Sam this morning. Was a beautiful morning and we actually managed to catch roughly 15-20 fish between the three of us in extremely low water. We worked a ton of water, like Sam said, probably 2 miles or so. My Dad got big fish of the day landed with about a 12 or 13 incher. All fish came on jig/twister in assorted colors. It's definitely a beautiful area isn't it? We'll have to get out there again once the water comes up a little bit. All we need is about a foot more and we'll be perfect. All my pics are on my camera in the car with my wife at my parent's house, so I'll post them up when she gets home. I got some good scenic shots when we were up on the bluff above the river hiking the trail back to our cars. All-in-all a productive morning. I think I caught 5 or so smallies in total. Nothing over 10 inches, but fun none the less. Glad to get out with you again Sam. Had a blast as always. It sucks that big one got away, but we'll get more, there's plenty of them in there. We got a couple months left to fish it still! That tree was GIGANTIC btw... Had to be 4 feet around at the very minimum!

Here are my pics from the outing:
And here's the one of the spider. Based on spiders I've found around outside my house and my parent's house I believe it's a Cross Orb Weaver. They can be any number of different colors but the fleur de lis on the back is a dead giveaway.

Ya it's basically some kind of concrete man-made structure to keep the river separate from the strip pit that is next to it. If you look at the pic of my dad walking away from us the strip pit is on the right, the river is on the left. It also serves as a dam at one point along the river, if you look at the same picture of my dad walking away from us way down in the distance you'll see a small building with a brown roof. Right there by the building it serves as the dam, but the water is so low there was no water moving over it. In the other pics we're way up on a bluff above the river, probably 100ft. up. There's a trail that winds its way all the way back along the river that we use to walk back to the cars after wading down river and it takes you way up on the bluffs
