DNR on the Des Plaines

Some like it, some don't. If you're fishing its major tributary, Salt Creek, leave those posts here.

DNR on the Des Plaines

Post by Dan »

YO!!

Question 4 u guys.

Sam was tellin me yesterday that he seen 5 DNR boats doing shock surveys near IL RT 7 in Lockport. So I was thinking... Who would I call to find out what they were doing down there?! I'm thinking Asian Carp but I could be wrong. I have called the DRN a few times and they are always great with any info :) What do u guys think??

I'm betting they were checking on the Asian Carp movement. Especially if they've been out in force for an entire month or so.

Either Carp movements, or stocking.

Now's the time of the year when the outdoor hatcheries drain themselves for the winter and whatever stock that's left gets released into the wild.

Call Bob Rung. He will also tell you everything that isn't published in those DNR reports on the internet. 8-)
