11/21/09 Weekend Edition

And you can do that here. Off fishing topic and off the wall subjects and plain bitch sessions. Sometimes you just need to have an outlet. Only registered users can see this forum.

Thats an idea Trav, winter carp will have to do until the ice is navigable.
I remember walleye fishing and some one talking about cold feet.. two people You and I .. and it wasn't me bringing up the cold feet.

Now that Bears Game I went to last year it was -5 and I was drinking.. battery boots would of been so nice.

Hitting the "carp" plant.

You guys saw how that carp nailed the jig the other day. When they're hungry they'll hit anything.

Luckily I no longer have neoprenes and can't afford to get the ones I want at the moment.

Forces me to go hunting.

Before you got there Ed was asking how carp ate flies sense there were no scents on them. They'll hit a fly, they are bug eaters. You can artificially scent a fly or anything for that matter, over time the scent will fad if it was a bad idea.

I once made a fly with braided line, it was knotted up from a birds nest cast of mine. I used that and my daughters play glitter finger nail polish. The carp didn't eat it but the gills could not resist. The fly looked ok but was stiff from the polish and that polish gave it some "flare".

You know how long it took to get that nail polish smell off and the blue gill's still took it.

I also saw a carp eat a altiod. Menty.

I heard of them eating a rooster tail as well. You never know, you just never know.

I've had carp hit Rapala J5's and J7's when trolling on the Illinois River. I've also had a carp hit a Mann's -1 on the Dupage River.

On Lake Michigan we used to hook those huge porpoise sized ones with little aberdeen hooks and a wax worm on Zebco rods and reels.

Then we would turn to the kid we were teaching to fish and say . . . here, hold this.

Then we would walk away. :D :D :D
