Just finish my most recent rod. It is a Rainshadow XB822.5, 6'10" medium power fast action. I kind of made my own handle design as i just took a bunch of different parts and put them all together to make it work. The reel seat is fugi which i spray painted with duplicolor. I also wrapped the guides in white silk which turns transparent when the finish is applied so it looks like nothing is holding the guides on.

Matt, rod looks great. You're doing great work over there. Just like I said before I started Fly Fishing...I'll never get into that because I know I'll get addicted. I'm sure within the next 2 years I'll start rod building.

Nice,
Those kind of screw down handles is what I like, but they are getting harder to find. They always seemed more durable.
Cork handle though. I like the feel.
I should buy the parts and you can make me a custom St.Croix, 6'6" medium light, fast action. One piece.
Put your signature on it and a ruler down the length of it. I'll show you where to draw the ruler inch marks.
What's your rate?

I miss having that extra few inches that got snapped off. Still works great as a medium now, but I miss that flexibility.
I may take you up on that offer, or we'll work something out.
