A handful of creek chubs and a rock bass. Lots and lots of hits and tugs that had me wishing I had brought my 3 weight fly rod and a bunch of small flies. Got to see two smallies unhook themselves before getting them even close and I think I hooked that 18 inch again in the bottom of a big pool. That was a hard hit and pull.
Otherwise, just a beautiful day to be out.
Reminds me of Monet paintings. I'll have to play around with it a little.
The recent high water made some changes. New trees were down and blocking the creek, made getting past them difficult since new channels were also cut into creek bed.
One huge tree with at least a 4 foot diameter trunk that was a major block on this creek for years, was pushed against the far bank. I've seen the end result of these floods many times over the years and have recorded them before and after. One of these times I'm going to go sit along a creek while it's all happening. I want to see it and hear it. Preferably without getting killed of course.
Stopped to do that old man ritual of emptying the bladder that gets too full too fast. I was practically standing on a fawn nested a few feet from the creek in tall grass. It never moved, just kept a close eye on me.
Somebody was way out in the woods, as far from any paths as I was.
But for different reasons. I was impressed.

Nice reports Ken, you have been out a lot lately. Have not been fishing in 3 weeks, hopefully that will change Sunday or Monday.
You can never fish the same river twice, by the time you get back it's not the same river.

That's what happens when you're temporarily unemployed and nobody in the graphics industry wants to hire anyone over 50. Dwelling on that has cut back on what I feel like writing down, but at least I can still get out and take pictures.
I vaguely remember the mention of a baby on the way, or did I misread that somewhere.

Re: 5/28/10 Little Rock Creek
I thought it was sooner. Make sure we get pictures here.
The plan is to go out Monday morning, but so far no decision where. I think it's going to be one of those days I get to Route 47 and decide to go straight, turn left, or right.
Hope you don't mind if I don't call. I'm in one of those moods and need to decompress.
Getting old and having everyone treat you like you don't exist sucks. Avoid it at all costs. The next time I get something going, and I will, I hire no one under 50.
