old grouch

And you can do that here. Off fishing topic and off the wall subjects and plain bitch sessions. Sometimes you just need to have an outlet. Only registered users can see this forum.

I believe I was referred to as crotchety.

My kids say I'm going to turn out like Clint Eastwood in Gran Torino.

I think it's smallie envy. I'm getting tired of living next to the Fox and having such poor results. Two minute walk to the river and I have to go elsewhere to catch anything. It's just not right.

If I could find a job down that way I'd go live with my aunt. Her back yard is the Kankakee just off 17 and the river. Probably not the best side of the river, but I'll bet it's sill better than the Fox.

I'll be up in Montgomery planting waterwillow Saturday morning unless it gets cancelled if the crick done rises. Plan on fishing the Fox afterward and maybe the Dupe on the way home.

Half tempted to try to fish 5 different rivers Friday- Iroquois, Kank, Illinois, Dupe and Fox. Last time I did it I managed a smallie out of each of them.

Well, there goes my Montgomery plans for Saturday. :D
You guys will be crawling all over the river afterwards.

If I see you out there, I'll stop by. I'm assuming around Violet Patch Park again or somewhere along Route 25.

I hear there's a trickle of water coming down from Wisconsin. Otherwise the river is the lowest it's been in over a year. Which is a good thing.

Norm
I've done a few articles that I called my "River Tour".
I hit 5 in a week or so.

it was fun to see different conditions and species for each place.
Fox, Dupe, DesPlaines, I and M canal, & the Kank.

Need to redo one of those in the future...

Rob,

Hit 3 creeks today instead on my way to Gum Wah and John's in Midlothian. One in Kankakke County, one in Will county and one in Cook County. I got at least one smallie in each on cranks, when I used plastics got chubs, rock bass and sunnies.
