Once upon a time I got Tim Holschlag out on the Fox. He insisted on using topwaters and fishing perpendicular to the shore. Me and Bob Long kept telling him not to do that. Well, anyway, Tim knew better.
8 hours of fishing or more and he got skunked.
Bob and I had to fight not to catch fish so he wouldn't do a bad write up on me. He totally fucked up the write up anyway. If you're going to take notes, learn how to read.
I catch a lot of fish, well, I used to.
I use what fish eat, or I thought I was.
Somewhere on here is a post from end of September 2008. 1/16th ounce jig, panfish assassin, over 100 smallies.
2009, I think, a creek, over 100 caught another 100 or so hits.
Sometimes all it takes is being in the right place.

kinda like high school , if you found a horny one and you weren't a complete asshole, you got laid.
What a long, strange trip it still is .
Put a glide in your stride, a dip in your hip and come onto the mother ship .

A year late on this post and forum but I vote yes for big baits! Night shot on a 3/8oz chatter bait tipped with 6" power worm and day shot 6" sebile hard swimmer.

Trolling the archives are we?
That's what they're here for.
I should go through my old records. I used to keep lots of details, now I just guesstimate.
On a lake in Virginia many years ago I was throwing topwaters for LM bass. Kept catching bluegills. So I decided to fish for bluegills and switched to a tiny crappie tube, a 5 foot ultralight rigged with 4 lb. test.
Caught a 5 lb. largemouth on it.
I still think it's a matter of putting the right lure in the right place at the right time. And the fish eats whatever it is. I've caught muskie on my little twisters. A 3 foot long flathead.
I found a big purple thing hanging from the Orchard bridge pylon today, that yours? Got a picture of it I'll put up.

Seen that also, no not mine. Had a 1oz bullet in front of a craw with heavy braid....not sure if he was trying to punch through the rock river bed or what but that had to sound like a brick entering the water as high as he was casting

It was easy enough to get down, but I decided to leave it as a decoration. I saw the weight too. Amazing what people throw in the water. I wonder where they learn these things.
I have a feeling they were casting from that one spot on shore and the wind got hold of it. Otherwise they would have just walked over and got it.
