You're a funny guy.

For the how, there are plenty of books out there that tell you how.
I would find one specifically about rivers.

You'll need to be a little more specific John. I can tell you where to go and what's worked for me, but then a guy caught one on a fly rod a few weeks ago out of the Fox, so it's a crap shoot sometimes. I fish light gear, I know guys who only throw heavy stuff. Let us know what you have and want to use and we'll take it from there.
