I know a handful of guys that fish the Dupe in the Plainfield/Shorewood area. Since last weekend they have been having 20 -30 fish evenings drifting minnows on slip floats through current seams. These are fish that have moved out of their wintering holes and are coming into current to feed where the fast water and slow water meet. Water temps reported in the upper 30s/lower 40s, flows are normalizing, clarity is good. This weekend (barring any significant precip) should be an excellent time to fish any sections of the Dupe.
Won't be long and these fish will be big, angry, fat pre-spawn tanks nailing anything that looks like food.
Welcome back spring, we missed you.

Thanks for the heads up Ed; I actually have plans to get out today so that is great timing!

That's great man, I haven't seen the same on the Fox yet. They're still wintered up. (I assume you're talking smallies, walleye are being caught by the method mentioned.)
I'm hoping they stay wintered until tomorrow, getting out in a boat to hit some wintering holes before they move up river.

I am assuming the Fox won't be too far behind Sam.
I was hoping to spend a few hours wading this weekend, but the To-Do pile is approaching epic heights.

Do a quick dine and dash right in downtown Oswego. You might run into me, you might not, you never know...Special Ed wrote:I was hoping to spend a few hours wading this weekend, but the To-Do pile is approaching epic heights.

Re: It begins
What a weekend... Since I'm only able to get 5 hrs of sleep during the week now I'll have to catch up on sleep next weekend. The wife fell ill, dead car repairs, major appliance breakdown, custom rod catch-up, + more, all on top of my regular Daddy-Day-Care duties both days.Ken G wrote:Do a quick dine and dash right in downtown Oswego. I've been tired before, but for the first time since my last USMC 36 hour training evolution, I am certain I will fall asleep on my feet at some point today.

It gets easier, trust me. You got to remember I didn't do what I'm doing till I turned 40.
Then you get divorced, all your money disappears, you can't find work... but by then you're older and don't care anymore. Worry gets in the way of fishing.
