From the Wisconsin border to the Illinois River, some of the best and easily accessible fishing in the Chicago area.

Wise old man indeed

Post by Special Ed »

So I'm looking at April's schedule, looks like I have one day to fish a bit. It will probably need to be an early morning or late evening excursion.

Then I look at the Montgomery gauge... 4,625... fuck.

It's going to be like that all Spring isn't it?

So I ask myself, "Self, where does Ken fish in the Spring?"

Da creeks.

April 28th, I'll probably be up a creek and not white water rafting on my bare ass down the Oswego stretch.

The good folks of Oswego thank you
What a long, strange trip it still is .

Put a glide in your stride, a dip in your hip and come onto the mother ship .

The way things went around here today, in 10 days the creeks should be damn near perfect.

Unless all the fish are down in the Illinois River. Must suck going over that 26 foot tall dam in Dayton.

Even with all the high water I didn't see Any fish in the Creeks I have been around. They were stacking up with shiners before the rain but not now.. All the islands in clark island are underwater.. No desire to get in that water... cleaned the basement for fun this weekend, used tequila as a catalyst for motivation. I even gave away a couple of rods and reels to Goodwill. i Still have a pair of breathable waders with boots attached in a youth model, if any one is interested. I thought Buster from Windy city was going to pick them up but we never connected for one reason or the other...

I wasn't seeing much of anything in the two creeks I want to fish Kev. Blackberry was loaded with carp, but who knows now. Hopefully they didn't all get blown into the river. Based on my sixth sense for creeks Ed, I'd say the 28th would be a good time to hit them, but you may have to get further upstream. The mouths are still filled with the river and I wouldn't go near them.
