Galena River?

I was in Galena this past weekend with the family and was talking to Deb, the owner of Fever River Outfitters. She said she doesn't know much about fishing but one of her clients caught a 3 lb smallie upstream from Galena. I asked her if the whole river was silted up like downtown Galena, there is a public boat ramp and you could see they had to bulldoze out several feet of muck to get to it this spring. Deb said that the sedimentation is pretty much localized to the area right around town. Anyone fished it? What kind of luck did you have?

All the times I went to Galena and I never fished that river. I always headed to the Apple. My wife and I are talking of taking a canoe out from fever river and giving it a try over the summer.

I remember checking out the river north of town and it was all rock like rivers should be in that area. I hope to find out more this year.
