Hey Matt-Apple River

Post by Ken G »

Looks like the gauge got stuck Tuesday night just as the river started to go up.

Right now there is no way of knowing what is going on. Hopefully someone will go kick the gauge to reset it.

Hate to see you go out there and its a washout.

The gauge is definitely stuck. Based on how the Fox went up and down, plus I just got back from checking Big and Little Rock Creeks and they are in perfect shape, I would think the Apple will be fine.

Have fun out there.

Thanks Ken, I was looking at surrounding rivers and they havent been affected that much. I know you said that the apple is different since it in a canyon, but it also comes down fast. I think they got about .7 inches of rain on tuesday. I gave the state park a call but i was too late and they closed at 4pm.

Were still going so we will make the best out of it either way. Expect i nice report when we get back!!
You can never fish the same river twice, by the time you get back it's not the same river.

I think it's going to be ideal.

Good to meet you the other day. Hope all my yacking didn't give you a headache.

Sometimes I surprise myself at how passionate I still get about fishing some of these beautiful waters. It's hard not to go on about them. And I barely touched on the possibilities.

Keeps me young I guess.

Bring a lunch, take a nap in the grass and fish that stretch all day Saturday. Just remember to be near where you started at dark. Those canyons get real dark. Trust me on that one.
