Teaching my daughter how to use a spinning reel. It was a combined effort, but, at least she got to feel the pull of a fish.
Then, on our last cast (well..the actual last cast of our several declared "last casts") we pulled in this one, the biggest, baddest of the 4 we caught.
She really seems to love fishing, which makes it all the more enjoyable.
Oh, also it helps that she has officially caught more bass than my brothers combined this season.

Re: Jelke Creek Bird Sanctuary Pond
I got both my daughters going at an early age, by two years old. One took to it, the other didn't.
20 years later, the one still likes to get out fishing. At least the other likes to get out and wander around.
It does help when they catch fish.

Always great to see good dads take their kids out fishing.
